Adobe have released an amazing new plugin for your facebook photos. The gap between professional photographers and amateurs continues to close.

Jules Mattsson on the receiving end of Police ignorance
2 08 2010The following transcript is of a series of UK police officers attempting to prevent perfectly legal photography by using an amazing degree of ignorance about UK law. In the course of the conversation a series of officers attempt to stop him photographing (perfectly legally) by accusing him of breaching the terrorism act, public order act, various misc copyright and child protection laws and accuising him of otherwise being an “Agitator”. Full credit to the photographer, he kept his cool pretty well, particularly after having his camera seized and aparrently being pushed down a flight of stairs.

understanding stock image rights
17 06 2010If you’re a picture buyer or publisher of images in any way, have a website or a blog, or are a photographer, take a quick at look at http://www.stockphotorights.com/ for a quick and easy explanation of the different types of image rights, copyright, and your legal position as well as a great guide how to managethe legal minefield. It’s a joint project being run by PACA (Picture Archive Council of America) and BAPLA (British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies)as well as some involvement from one or two of the largest photo libraries.
that explains more clearly than I ever could, how stock image rights work.

14 bike co in the studio
2 02 201014 bike Co. hired out my studio for a couple of days this week – photography was skillfully executed by photoben (ben I want 20% for this plug). It’s been interesting to not only see how other photographers use my equipment but also to assist ben and keith, the AD. Right now I have 500 sqft of space, backdrops, three bowens flash heads and softboxes, reflectors, stands, speedlights, a heavy duty tripod, a client meeting area, a tethered shooting / post processing workstation with 27″ dual-hdmi screen, and (most importantly of all), a good coffee machine…
